The first quarter of 2022 has brought with it some fantastic projects for our range of innovative surfacing solutions. As spring begins we find ourselves working across the UK on all manner of installations. As always, we would like to thank our network of strategic partners who continue to deliver fantastic installations of our class-leading surfacing products.
Edinburgh Zoo Dinosaur Trail
The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) is welcoming dino-mite new residents to Edinburgh Zoo this spring, giving visitors the chance to get up close and personal with prehistoric giants. Dinosaurs! at Edinburgh Zoo launched on 1 April, complete with a 40ft long t-rex and 65ft tallbrachiosaurus. The wildlife conservation charity’s zoo hilltop will be home to over 20 animatronic dinosaurs for visitors to discover.
KBI was excited to install its innovative Flexipave surfacing system on to the footpath network running through the new attraction, finished in our popular Stone Age Bronze finish.
Alton Towers, CBeebies Land
KBI worked on some amazing new surfaces for extensions to CBeebies Land within the Alton Towers theme park. The project utilised a combination of our Flexistone system and our specialist Flexiglass decorative system to create bright designs within the surface.
First created for our work at Legoland Windsor, the Flexiglass system was the perfect was to create the dynamic, colourful effect that CBeebies Land was looking for.
Mires Beck Nursery
Nestled in the rural East Yorkshire Wolds village of North Cave, Mires Beck Nursery sits alongside a beautiful beck and is situated not far from the Wetlands nature reserve. The horticultural nursery specialises in the production of wildflowers of Yorkshire provenance, Phragmites and native species trees that are grown on site.
KBI worked to install new pathways that would allow customers to navigate the nursery more effectively. Working with our partners Eco Paving Solutions, the project saw us deliver all of the groundworks as well as the finished surface.
