New Case Study: KBI receives high praise from Kirklees Council for recent Flexipave project

KBI UK has received outstanding feedback from Kirklees Council for our recent Flexipave project at the new country park in Skelmanthorpe, Huddersfield.

The Park Gate scheme, an initiative by the council, aimed to create a small country park by reclaiming old pit workings. In this project, 650m² of Flexipave was installed to enhance the park's accessibility and landscape.

Christina Lee, a senior landscape architect for Kirklees Council, expressed her delight with the project’s outcome, stating:

“The Park Gate Scheme is an ex-colliery site at Skelmanthorpe, which is being developed as a small country park. The area is popular with walkers/dog-walkers. We required a porous, versatile surface that was suitable for purpose making the park more accessible and most importantly the terrain, which is quite difficult."

Over 650m2 of Flexipave was installed improving the accessibility and landscape.

Despite facing various challenges during the comprehensive project in April, the outcome was a success.

Christina Lee added:

"We are very pleased with the feedback of the path including from the Skelmanthorpe Friends Group, who volunteer on the site. Everyone who has spoken loves the Flexipave path.”
