Derbyshire County Council choose Flexipave

Sections of the Skegby Trail in Derbyshire have received a surfacing makeover using KBI Flexipave.

In our first job for Derbyshire County Council, 600m2 of Stone Age Bronze Flexipave was installed by our strategic partner Groundplay, with on site assistance from council employees.

The resurfaced sections all featured steep inclines, which prompted the council to source a surfacing product that would tolerate significant pedestrian and equestrian use, but require minimal maintenance. The route, which is popular with dog walkers, runners, cyclists and horse riders, is located deep in the countryside, well away from the nearest council depot.

KBI's Regional Sales Manager Steve Ashall lead the project, and commented:

"We're delighted with the outcome of this particular installation. Flexipave has a proven track record of working well on steep inclines, and the rubber element of the material is always well received by equine users as it offers improved stability, promoting confidence in the horse when accessing paths of this nature. For other users, the path now offers year round access to them, regardless of the weather conditions."
